ANNUAL THEMES FOR THE WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY
The theme and text for each year’s observance of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity are chosen and prepared by representatives of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity and representatives of the World Council of Churches. The international texts are developed, adapted and published for use in the USA by Graymoor Ecumenical & Interreligious Institute. GEII invites the collaboration of ecumenical agencies and ecumenists to assist in this project.
The 2025 Week of Prayer poster is designed for use as is, or it may be customized to announce local ecumenical times of prayer. To customize, print information (i.e., activity, date, time and place) in the space below the theme.
One copy of each of the following five items: 2024 Week of Prayer poster, ecumenical celebration of the word of God, worship bulletin cover, daily scripture & prayer guide and prayer card.
These are sample petitions that can be utilized in any setting. They are by no means exhaustive, but are meant to assist those who are planning various activities throughout the Week.
The initiatives called forth, strengthened and enhanced during the WPCU can be sustained throughout the year. Here are some suggestions to help support the ecumenical impulse throughout 2025.
There are many agencies which can supply materials to help you learn about the ecumenical movement and about personnel involved in the movement. We offer here a select list.
