Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
(Luke 12:32)
Lord Jesus Christ, great Shepherd of the sheep, hear the prayer of your flock for unity with you and communion with one another. Formed in the image of God, your flock is as diverse as the Three Persons of the Trinity, yet it is drawn together by grace to reflect also the communion of perfect love, the bond of your complete unity with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Your flock knows that sin tears us apart and leads us into separate pastures, leaving you the Good Shepherd, to help us into being one fold. Forgive us for our self-righteousness and our fears of uniformity. Give us the grace of humility to bear the truth in love. We are your people, the sheep of your flock. Help us to see one another as you see us. Let us share in your pasture together with forgiveness and generosity. We ask all this in your most holy name. Amen.
