January 18-25, 2023 is the annual observance of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The theme chosen for 2023 is, “Do good; seek justice.” (Isaiah 1:17) Throughout 2023, join Christians everywhere in praying “that they may all be one” joining our prayer with that of the Lord Jesus Christ. Sunday, December 25, 2022 (Christmas Day)
“Do good; seek justice.” (Isaiah 1:17) is the theme for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2023 (January 18-25). Begun in 1908, these days have been set aside each year so that Christians the world over may share the prayer of Jesus: “that all may be one... that the world may believe” (John 17:21). Note the dates and plan to participate in the following special observances.
Sunday, January 1, 2023 (New Year’s Day)
The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity begins in a little over two weeks, on Wednesday, January 18, and continues through Wednesday, January 25. The theme for 2021 is “Do good; seek justice.” (Isaiah 1:17) Use the Daily Scripture and Prayer Guide to join with Christians around the world praying “that all may be one... that the world may believe” (John 17:21). The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity begins in a little over a week on Wednesday, January 18 and continues with (event) and concludes Wednesday, January 25, with (event). Let us join other Christian churches in our area as we remember the 2023 theme, “Do good; seek justice” (Isaiah 1:17) You are invited to participate in these and other ecumenical opportunities: (list planned events and activities).

This Wednesday, January 18 marks the beginning of the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. We will join with other Christians Wednesday evening at (event) to celebrate this year’s theme, “Do good; seek justice.” (Isaiah 1:17) The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will conclude on Wednesday, January 25 with (event). Please join us, “That all may be one.” (John 17:21) Next Sunday, January 22, is Ecumenical Sunday. We will be participating in (event).
Sunday, January 22, 2023 – Ecumenical Sunday
Today is Ecumenical Sunday when we celebrate what God is doing through the many ecumenical agencies—local, regional, national and international—that make up the modern ecumenical movement. As we continue our special prayers “that all may be one... that the world may believe” (John 17:21), we take time to familiarize ourselves with the work that (insert the name of one or more agencies) does to promote understanding and cooperation among Christians and others in our community. (Our event this evening).

Although the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity concluded this past Monday, we continue to remember this year’s theme: “Do good; seek justice.”(Isaiah 1:17) and pray “that all may be one... that the world may believe” (John 17:21).
