On March 24th, Sr. Estelle Sogbou and Dr. Aaron Hollander will offer interchurch, international, and intercultural perspectives on how faith and dialogue can address the urgent demands of our divided societies. In a time marked by factionalism and malicious misinformation, this discussion will examine whether the ecumenical movement’s century-long pursuit of unity and reconciliation holds practical relevance beyond theological circles. Can ecumenical relationships be a model for social integrity beyond Christian circles? Together, our speakers will explore what resources out of the history of inter-church and intra-church peacemaking can illuminate pathways to reconciliation in our divided world.
Sr. Estelle Sogbou, CCN, is a doctoral student in dogmatic theology at the Faculté Loyola in Paris, France, and a member of the Circle of Concerned African Women Theologians. She is currently in charge of the Theological Institute of Dombes, where she contributes to fostering theological dialogue and reflection.
Dr. Aaron Hollander is the Executive Director of Graymoor Ecumenical & Interreligious Institute and Editor of Ecumenical Trends, a leading publication of public scholarship on ecumenical and interfaith dialogue. He also teaches theology at Fordham University and serves on the faculty of the Centro Pro Unione Summer Course in Ecumenism, combining academic inquiry with a deep commitment to fostering reconciliation and collaboration across faith traditions.
